Founder
Matt Lenzie
Former Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Banking Group. 25+ years in UK property and corporate finance. £300m+ of equity and debt raised for clients.
Matt Lenzie is the founder of Lenzie Consulting Ltd, the trading entity behind BuytoLetFinance.co.uk and the wider Construction Capital portfolio of UK property-finance specialist sites. Lenzie Consulting Ltd is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and arranges non-regulated buy-to-let mortgages only.
Matt's career began on the lender side. Across more than two decades at Bank of Scotland and then Lloyds Banking Group, he structured, credit-committed, and underwrote property and corporate finance transactions — the same kind of cases our broker desk now packages from the other side of the table. That dual perspective — what gets declined and why, what packaging actually moves the needle on pricing, which structures lenders will and won't credit — is the core of how we advise.
Over a 25-year career he has been involved in raising more than £300 million of equity and debt for clients across buy-to-let, commercial property, development finance, and corporate transactions. The portfolio of sites he operates today funnels into a single specialist desk, run on the principle that the broker should know more about the lender than the borrower does.
Matt lives in the UK and personally reviews every complex case that crosses the desk. Initial consultations are always fee-free.

Why founder-led packaging matters in buy-to-let finance
Most mortgage brokers come from a sales or broker background. The team here is led by someone who spent more than two decades structuring, credit-committing, and underwriting property finance on the lender side. The packaging of a buy-to-let case — which lender it goes to, in what order, what evidence accompanies it — is what determines whether you get the rate quoted online or a meaningfully cheaper rate. That decision should be made by someone who knows what the underwriter at the other end actually wants to see.
If your case is straightforward, any competent broker will get you a good outcome. If it isn't — limited-company SPV with director's loans, portfolio refinance under the PRA portfolio landlord rules, expat or non-resident borrower, HMO with planning quirks, semi-commercial or mixed-use — then the broker's lender-side experience determines whether the deal completes, at what price, and on what terms.
